Terms of service
Last updated 18 October 2026
1. Scope
These terms govern the use of Partpass, operated by Company name, by businesses. Partpass is not offered to consumers; reading a public passport needs no account and no agreement.
2. The service
Partpass lets suppliers publish component data, lets manufacturers assemble and release digital product passports, gives verified repairers, recyclers and authorities tiered access, and resolves GS1 Digital Link QR codes to the released passport.
3. Your responsibility for content
The organisation that publishes data is responsible for it being correct, complete and lawful, and remains the economic operator responsible under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 and Regulation (EU) 2024/1781. Partpass checks the format of data and the ownership of GS1 company prefixes but does not certify the content. Completeness indicators are aids, not legal opinions.
4. Verification
We verify organisations before they can release passports or read restricted data, using automatic checks against public registers (EU VAT register, GLEIF, domain registries, GS1 where available) and, where those can't confirm the details, a review by a person. Automatic checks only ever approve; a refusal is always a human decision. You must provide truthful information and tell us of changes. Verification is re-checked regularly and is suspended, pending review, if your VAT number becomes invalid or your organisation is renamed. We may suspend accounts or take down passports that are misleading or infringe rights.
5. Availability and continuity
Released passports are immutable and remain online for the lifetime of the product. If we cease operating, we will give at least 12 months' notice, provide a full export in an open format and, where possible, transfer passports to another service provider so that QR codes keep resolving (Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, Art. 9, 10(4) and 11(e)).
6. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence and injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Statutory liability that cannot be excluded remains unaffected.
7. Fees
Fees follow the plan you choose. Prices are net of VAT.
8. Law and venue
The law of the operator's seat applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Venue is the operator's seat.
